How does Peter’s command in 1:17 to “conduct yourselves” link to v. 18?
1 Peter 1:17 (ESV)
17And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one’s deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile,
There are two ways in which Peter’s readers can conduct themselves. In 1 Peter 1:18 Peter contrasts these two and so sets before his readers a choice. This choice is based on knowledge that the exiles/sojourners also possess.
