Peter had used the same term in 1 Peter 1:5, 1 Peter 1:9, and 1 Peter 1:10 to describe the totality of the package that results from being born again: possessing a living hope, having an inheritance, and being guarded by God’s power. As a result of drinking God’s kind of milk, the Christian grows in his appreciation for the riches he has graciously received from God the Father through Jesus Christ. This growth is to continue until Christ’s appearance (1 Peter 1:5, 1 Peter 1:13).
