The term Amorite
is sometimes used to refer to everyone living in Canaan (Genesis 15:16; Genesis 36:2–3; Joshua 24:15; Judges 1:34–35; Ezekiel 16:3). Otherwise it refers to the central hill country of Canaan (Numbers 13:29; Deuteronomy 1:7) or the kingdoms east of the Jordan River (Numbers 21:26; Deuteronomy 4:46; Joshua 13:10, Joshua 13:26).
10 And Joshua said, “Here is how you shall know that the living God is among you and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Hivites, the Perizzites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, and the Jebusites.
