The term Amorite
is sometimes used to refer to everyone living in Canaan (Genesis 15:16; Genesis 36:2–3; Joshua 24:15; Judges 1:34–35; Ezekiel 16:3). Other times it refers to the central hill country of Canaan (Numbers 13:29; Deuteronomy 1:7) or the kingdoms east of the Jordan River (Numbers 21:26; Deuteronomy 4:46; Joshua 13:10, Joshua 13:26). In this context in most likely refers to the central hill country of Canaan.
