His wife was silent until now. Now she responds. This woman who was called upon to entertain others with her body (see Song of Solomon 6:13) now takes the floor herself. She confirms what her husband has said. She is his alone, her lover’s. She is not there to entertain others. She does not belong to anyone else, but to her husband alone. She adds that he desires her. She rejects the call to entertain others and to arouse desires in others. She only wants to respond to her husband’s desire.
