The days in question are the last days (see Acts 2:16–21), the days when the Spirit is poured out and times of refreshing come to all those who turn from their sin and submit to Jesus as the Christ.1 The clearest allusion to these days from Samuel is found in 2 Samuel 7:12–16, where the Lord promises David that his house and kingdom will endure forever. There is thus a general expectation of a future time where a great king will come and rule with righteousness. Many of the Old Testament prophets contain an element of future hope which was unfulfilled at the time.2
24 And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came after him, also proclaimed these days.
