This verse is a confession describing the character of God. He is a mighty refuge for his people in times of need. A siege by a hostile nation was a terrible event. The collapse of Jerusalem and the resulting suffering was a fate too awful to contemplate. But the nightmare vanished, and the thankful Korahites could sing God’s praises with this psalm.
