Here Moses asks for God’s blessing, for him to remove his wrath from them, and to enable them to labour fruitfully once more. Did God answer this prayer of Moses? Of course he did. It is sad that Moses, after everything he did for his people, never entered the Promised Land. But God did turn away from his fury and showed grace and compassion to Joshua. The joy did return to Israel as they entered the Promised Land after forty years of wandering through the wilderness.
17 Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!
