The pronoun “him,” in context, can only refer to “the Lord,” 1 Peter 2:3. The way the Greek is put together, Peter expects his readers to come repeatedly to the Lord. This is fully consistent with what he had written in 1 Peter 2:2 when he told his readers that they, “like newborn infants,” need to make a point of craving for the pure spiritual milk. Infants do not crave milk once only but repeatedly. In the same vein, the elect exiles need to come repeatedly to the source of this milk, the Lord. In fact, if indeed they “have tasted that the Lord is good” (1 Peter 2:3), they certainly will come back repeatedly for more.
