Psalm 26:1–12 (ESV)

1 Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the LORD without wavering.

Psalm 26 consists of these subdivisions:

  • David’s prayer for justice, based on his righteousness before God, made possible by the promise of the covenant (Psalm 26:1–3);

  • the actions David did not do (Psalm 26:4–5);

  • the actions David did do (Psalm 26:6–8); and

  • repetition of prayer and affirmation of innocence (Psalm 26:9–12).
