Psalm 26 consists of these subdivisions:
David’s prayer for justice, based on his righteousness before God, made possible by the promise of the covenant (Psalm 26:1–3);
the actions David did not do (Psalm 26:4–5);
the actions David did do (Psalm 26:6–8); and
repetition of prayer and affirmation of innocence (Psalm 26:9–12).
