Satan is opposed to God and his plans. He wants to destroy God’s church and prevent the Good News of Jesus from being widely proclaimed. In filling the heart of Ananias, Satan tempted him with the desire to impress the apostles and the wider community of believers. This is similar to what happened with Judas (Luke 22:3) who was also motivated by money (Luke 22:5).
3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land?
