God reveals himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He remembers his covenant (Exodus 2:24). That means he comes in action to do what he has promised: freedom from slavery in Egypt and the possession of the land Canaan (Genesis 15:14, Genesis 15:18). He is not a foreign God but the God of Israel (see also Exodus 3:15).
6 And he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.
