Everyone who sins is a slave to sin (John 8:34). However, Israel was redeemed from the slavery of Pharaoh, and also from serving other gods (cf. Ezekiel 20:8). Jesus also freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father
(Revelation 1:5–6). We no longer serve the devil but we serve the Lord Jesus (Philippians 2:9–10).
12 He said, “But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”
