The reference is not simply to chronology, as if John just happened to see the heavenly vision of Revelation 19:1–4 sometime “after” the visions concerning Babylon. Instead, with the term “after this,” John makes clear that heaven responds to Babylon’s total demise (Revelation 18:21: thrown down
