Revelation 19:9 had begun with the words, “And the angel said to me,” words repeated in the middle of the verse. The purpose of the repetition is to draw attention to the next words, which reach back to the previous words about the marriage feast. It is as if the Holy Spirit (as divine author) is pulling out all stops to press upon the churches how essential and beyond dispute those earlier marvellous words about the marriage feast are.
9 And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”
