What is significant about John falling to worship?

Revelation 19:10 (ESV)

10 Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

John reacts to the angel’s wonderful declaration in the identical way that the twenty-four elders and four living creatures reacted to the cry of heaven’s multitude (Revelation 19:4). As they fell off their thrones to worship, so John fell down to worship. The reaction of prostration in worship is most fitting and exemplary for the church of all times and places. John had fallen in similar prostration in Revelation 1:17.
