Whenever the four living creatures broke into their song of praise (which was always, Revelation 4:8), the twenty-four elders fell off their thrones and prostrated themselves before God. They did so in response to hearing that this God is “holy, holy, holy,” utterly unique and totally worthy of worship. Being in his presence as they now were, they understood supremely well that glory and honour and thanks were eternally due to their Lord and Maker.
