1 Thessalonians 2:14–16 (ESV)

14 For you, brothers, became imitators of the churches of God in Christ Jesus that are in Judea. For you suffered the same things from your own countrymen as they did from the Jews,

  • Opposition to the preaching of the gospel should not intimidate us into silence

  • The promise of God’s wrath is an assurance that God is just, and that one day he will eliminate all injustice from society

  • To stand firm in the face of persecution, a believer must be convinced about what is truly pleasing to God and beneficial for all mankind

  • Persecution has been a reality for God’s people through the ages
