God draws Satan’s attention to Job, adding this to his testimony: He still holds fast his integrity, although you incited me against him to destroy him without reason.
Except with regard to Jesus Christ, there is no one else of whom Scripture gives such a wonderful testimony. In these words we also hear the Lord’s compassion for Job. He rebukes Satan: You incited me against him.
Although the Lord had good reasons to bring these disasters over Job, he also felt deeply for Job.
3 And the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil? He still holds fast his integrity, although you incited me against him to destroy him without reason.”
