Job comes back to the question he had asked in Job 10:3: of what benefit could it have been to God to destroy the work of his own hands? Job speaks the truth when he says that God “destroys” him. God had used the same Hebrew word when he had said to Satan, “You incited me against him to destroy him without reason” (Job 2:3).
