Revelation of God the Father

Acts 5:17–42 (ESV)

17 But the high priest rose up, and all who were with him (that is, the party of the Sadducees), and filled with jealousy

What does Acts 5:17-42 reveal about who God the Father is? God is powerful. He sends an angel to open the prison doors in a way that is inexplicable and miraculous. He raised Jesus from the dead and exalted him to his right hand.

God is concerned for truth. He gives the apostles the task of testifying to Jesus Christ and empowers them by his Spirit so that they will bear witness even under intense persecution.

God has all authority. Obedience to God comes before obedience to any man.

God reveals himself. He revealed himself to the fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

God is sovereign. His plans will always come to pass and cannot (ultimately) be stopped by men.
