The reference to the God of our fathers
is an affirmation that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is part of the salvation history which God initiated with his past revelation to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, and David (see Acts 2:30; Acts 3:13, Acts 3:18, Acts 3:21–25).1 It also reminds the Jewish leaders that the apostles are not coming with a new religion, but that they worship the same God.2
30 The God of our fathers raised Jesus, whom you killed by hanging him on a tree.
