Paul deals with the issue of two groups in the church in Romans 14:1 – 15:13. In Romans 14:1–12 he writes about accepting one and another. In Romans 14:13–23 he underlines not to cause your brother or sister to stumble. And here in Romans 15:1–7 he explains that unity is necessary to glorify God together. That is the purpose of salvation; see for example, Isaiah 43:21 where the Lord speaks about people “whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise.”
1 We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
