Christ as God's remembrance of his covenant

Exodus 2:23–25 (ESV)

23 During those many days the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God.

God made the covenant with Abraham to bless all nations (Genesis 12:3) and this promise is fulfilled in Jesus (Galatians 3:14). Salvation by Jesus was also God’s initiative. He showed mercy and remembered his covenant. He has redeemed his people (Luke 1:68–75).
