What does 1 Samuel 1:21–2:10 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (the work of the Son)? God raises up a deliverer who will one day bring about the great reversal. Through his anointed one, he will act to guard the feet of his faithful and break his adversaries into pieces. Jesus Christ is this deliverer. He perfectly obeyed God’s law on my behalf and atoned for my sin in his death. He will return again in glory to gather his people to himself and take us to a new earth where there will be no more sin so that we can live in God’s presence without fear of ever being exiled.
