Revelation of God the Son

1 Samuel 1:1–20 (ESV)

1 There was a certain man of Ramathaim-zophim of the hill country of Ephraim whose name was Elkanah the son of Jeroham, son of Elihu, son of Tohu, son of Zuph, an Ephrathite.

What does 1 Samuel 1:1–20 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (the work of the Son)? God raises up a Deliverer who will not only deal with the consequences of sin but also the causes thereof. Christ Jesus is the Deliverer who perfectly obeyed God’s law on my behalf and atoned for my sin in his death. He will return again in glory to gather his people to himself. He will take us to a new earth where there will be no more sin, so that we can live in God’s presence without fear of ever being exiled.
