Psalm 95
Before your sermon and reading from the Bible, it would be good to sing from Psalm 95:1–11. Along with praising God, this psalm is also warning us not to harden our hearts against him. Eli’s sons most certainly knew God’s Word, yet they refused to listen to him, thereby hardening their hearts.
Psalm 110
In response to your sermon, it would be good to sing from Psalm 110:1–7. This song looks forward to the final return of Jesus Christ and identifies him as the priest of the order of Melchizedek, thus the faithful priest whom God has promised.
11 Then Elkanah went home to Ramah. And the boy was ministering to the LORD in the presence of Eli the priest.
