Psalm 18
Psalm 18:1–50 is a song that contains many of the themes found in the book of Samuel. Indeed, the words of this psalm are also present in the book itself (2 Samuel 22:1–51). It would be a good idea to sing a section from this psalm at some point during your liturgy, either before or after the sermon.
24 And the men of Israel had been hard pressed that day, so Saul had laid an oath on the people, saying, “Cursed be the man who eats food until it is evening and I am avenged on my enemies.” So none of the people had tasted food.
