The book of Psalms is divided into five books: Psalms 1—41; 42—72; 73—89; 90—106; 107—150. The first four books conclude with a doxology (praise to the Lord) that is very similar to one another; see Psalm 41:13; Psalm 72:18–19; Psalm 89:52; Psalm 106:48. The last psalm of the whole book is in reality one long doxology with the theme, “Praise the Lord!”
