Proverbs 11:3 (ESV)

3 The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.

The life that the righteous should live is to be humble, which means being honest and trustworthy. The life of integrity will guide the righteous to walk in the right direction and avoid indulging in sinful living. Living in integrity will prevent the righteous from being treacherous, which is how the foolish live their lives. A treacherous way of living is to be crooked, which describes a lifestyle that is committed to doing evil. To live in this way will lead a person in the wrong direction, and their journey on this road of corruption will end in disaster and destruction.
