Proverbs 11:20 (ESV)

20 Those of crooked heart are an abomination to the LORD, but those of blameless ways are his delight.

The person who pursues after evil has a crooked heart, meaning they are corrupt in the sight of God. The consequence of their crookedness is that they will not go unpunished for their actions and behaviour. In contrast, God delights in a person who seeks to live a blameless life before him.
