The previous section had left the reader delightfully reassured that Babylon (that is, human effort to develop a paradise on earth without God) had utterly failed (Revelation 17:1 – 19:2). The Lord’s victory over Babylon left the way open for revelation concerning the marriage feast of the Lamb, Revelation 19:1–10. But the attentive reader will wonder what the Lord intends to do with the beasts of Revelation 13:1–18 and the dragon of Revelation 12:1–17. Will he permit them to continue their hellish efforts on this earth? With Revelation 19:11–21 Jesus Christ shows John what he does with the two beasts of Revelation 13:1–18.
