Isaiah was a true evangelist; he had compassion for the people of Moab, even whilst delivering the message of their destruction.
We can give voice to God’s wrath without losing our empathy (see Isaiah 22:4 and Jeremiah 9:1). What is significant here, however, is that this prophecy is aimed at a heathen nation.
