Chapters 6—12 narrate the conquest under the leadership of the Divine Warrior who fights Israel’s battles. This section includes a description of three campaigns: the central highlands (Joshua 6:1 – 9:27), the five kings in the south (Joshua 10:1–43), and the coalition of kings led by Hazor in the north (Joshua 11:1–11).1 After these accounts this section finishes with an appendix (Joshua 12:1–24).2
