Cush, also called Nubia in the Bible, was a land south of Egypt, in the region that is currently the country of Sudan. Some Bible translations have Ethiopia instead of Cush.
In ca. 732 BC, the king of Nubia conquered Egypt, starting a dynasty of Nubian pharaohs on the throne of Egypt.
