Where were Nadab and Abihu’s bodies buried?

Leviticus 10:4 (ESV)

4 And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said to them, “Come near; carry your brothers away from the front of the sanctuary and out of the camp.”

Nadab and Abihu’s bodies were buried outside of the camp. This is the place associated with that which is unclean and profane. Interestingly, while Nadab and Abihu’s bodies were consumed, their clothes were not. These were the priestly garments worn in temple service. The men are consumed because of their unholiness, but the clothes survive because of their holiness. This reinforces the fact that the fire was an expression of supernatural divine judgment.
