1. Matthew 11:29 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

When did Jesus show that he is lowly of heart?

Matthew 11:29 (ESV)

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Jesus’ lowliness of heart was the attitude that made him come to earth to suffer for us. He did not think about himself; he thought of us. He humbled himself, although he lived in the glory of God. He became a slave and obedient unto death on the cross (see Philippians 2:5–8).
