James 2:2–4 (ESV)

2 For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in,

What do you think the first time you [meet] someone? [Do you focus on] what he or she looks like? Guys, how pretty she is? How well-dressed they are? Or do you wonder what kind of important job that person has? Or do you think that he has such a charismatic personality, and then judge a book by its cover? We make these first impressions that often never leave us. What is the first question that you should be asking yourself when you meet someone? Are they in Christ?1
