God exercises mercy to us in judgment because of Christ Jesus, so then in your life, mercy must triumph over judgment. You must not deal with others according to the standards of the law broken. No, as the recipient of mercy, you must show mercy to those in the world and those in the body of Christ. Because the recipients of mercy know that mercy in God triumphed over judgment, thus mercy in us must triumph over judgment. And so you, as the recipient of mercy, must show mercy. You must live as one who is judged by the law of liberty. You must act out of that great motivation that God has shown you mercy in judgment and thus you are to show mercy to others. That is the indicator of the fact that you have truly been converted by the Lord Jesus Christ.1
