To ignore instruction will bring poverty and disgrace into a person’s life. People who disregard receiving good advice and being corrected will put themselves on a path to failure in many areas of their lives. They will be deprived of the riches of God’s blessings in their lives and will be regarded as shameful in the presence of other people. But whoever willingly receives correction and instruction will grow and improve in every area of their life and will be honoured. Their lives will show God’s blessings upon them and they will be regarded by others as being respectful people.
18 Poverty and disgrace come to him who ignores instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is honored.
