A person who despises instruction and correction from God’s Word will refuse to listen to words of advice because of not wanting to obey the Scriptures. To have this attitude towards the Word of God will bring destruction upon themselves resulting in their lives being ruined. A person who respects and submits to God’s command will have much wisdom. He will listen to what has been said to him and readily follow the advice given to him. The result of his obedience is that he will be rewarded with God’s favour in his life.
13 Whoever despises the word brings destruction on himself, but he who reveres the commandment will be rewarded.
