Eliphaz does not realize that his and his friends’ words of comfort
and advice
had pushed Job to the limits of endurance. Without listening to Job’s claims of innocence, they had put him in the camp of the wicked. Now, when Job has laid his pain and anguish before God, Eliphaz is amazed that Job can be so emotional and unreasonable!
