Why did Saul reveal to his son and attendants his plans to kill David?
1 Samuel 19:1 (ESV)
1And Saul spoke to Jonathan his son and to all his servants, that they should kill David. But Jonathan, Saul’s son, delighted much in David.
Since his indirect and private plans did not have any success (see 1 Samuel 18:17, 1 Samuel 18:21, 1 Samuel 18:25),1 Saul now enlisted the help of his closest allies.2 Shame no longer prevented him from revealing his wicked plans.
1 And Saul spoke to Jonathan his son and to all his servants, that they should kill David. But Jonathan, Saul’s son, delighted much in David.
