For the third time in this Psalm (see Psalm 88:1 and Psalm 88:9), the author calls on God. The verb used here can best be translated as to groan.
Powerfully he pleads that the Lord will hear him.
He earnestly longs for deliverance from his great distress. First thing in the early morning he already comes to God with his urgent plea.
13 But I, O LORD, cry to you; in the morning my prayer comes before you.
