At the beginning of his path of suffering, Job had worshipped God as the sovereign Lord who is free to give and take (Job 1:21). But a change has taken place in Job, due to the reasoning of his friends and perhaps due to his ongoing pain. He now sees God as an enemy who has attacked him in fierce anger.
