Job is human like the rest of us. His feelings fluctuate between hope and despair. Here we find him sinking into depression once again. As children of God, we can take comfort from his example. God wants to hear even of our deepest distress, however often we may experience it.
It is no wonder that Job feels the deepest despair. Even his spirit, without which a man cannot live (Psalm 146:4), is broken.
