There is no one to take a stand for Job. Job again asks God himself to do this. In biblical times, if you were convinced of someone’s good character, you would be willing to put up security
for him against his accusers. This is what Job wants God to do for him, since he remains convinced that he is not guilty of the wickedness that his friends accuse him of.
