The word glory
conveys the notion of the gravitas, splendour, and weightiness that belongs to God, and is now attached to Jesus Christ. After their deliverance from Egypt, the Lord God had revealed this glory
to Israel through the pillar of cloud and in other ways (Exodus 33:9–10; Exodus 40:34–35). In the new dispensation, this glory is revealed particularly through Jesus Christ (John 1:14; 2 Corinthians 3:18). The fullness of that revelation will be made apparent to all when Jesus returns on the Last Day (Philippians 2:9–11).
13 But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.
