Joshua 12:1–24 (ESV)

1 Now these are the kings of the land whom the people of Israel defeated and took possession of their land beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise, from the Valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon, with all the Arabah eastward:

What does Joshua 12 reveal about what God the Son Did in my place and on my behalf?

Jesus Christ is the servant King who came to give his life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). Through his death and resurrection he purchased for himself a people with his own blood, a people who deserved God’s wrath but are graciously saved on account of God’s decision to show mercy. When Christ returns in glory, those who trust in him do not have to fear judgment and wrath. Instead we look forward to salvation and glory (Hebrews 9:27).
