Murder and theft are clearly transgressions of the law of God as revealed in the Ten Commandments. Roman society also saw murder and theft as evil and punished them accordingly. The term “evildoing” is a broad term denoting (other) activities that transgress God’s law though perhaps condoned by society (1 Peter 4:3; 1 Corinthians 6:9–10).
15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler.
